A Solar
Panel and Pump from RealGoods arrive as a gift...oh boy!The panel
is a 13.5W model consisting of 36 cells in series - thus the 18V open
circuit rating. The first thing I did was measure the Voc and Isc
- I saw around 18 volts and .5 amps. |

I picked up a bowl and pedestal from Landscape Depot in Rockledge
FL. They were very helpful with suggestions on conversion of the
planter to a fountain. |

Some silicone caulk and rubber liner was applied to the drainage
hole in the bowl. |

I picked up a smaller bowl and saucer, and some bricks. A hole
was drilled in the center of the saucer. Tubing was attached from
pump to saucer. Wires ran from pump thru pedestal and sealed hole
in liner. |

The panel was mounted on the roof, with flexible conduit run down
the wall to hold the power cable. The pump kicks on between 9am
and 10am and runs till about 2pm or 3pm in full sun. |
